WestFest
Well, Westfest was a fantastic weekend, we sold lots of knitted cakes, flowers, tea cosy's and egg cosy's to the lovely people of West Didsbury. We enjoyed being part of Silver Apples 'Village fete', ate far too much cake, drank too many Pimms & lemonades and generally over-indulged!
We even got snapped for the local rag, which I will post a copy of as soon as I see it myself!
Here's a link to some more photos from the day

Paper flowers in an hour....
Have you ever found yourself in a shop, of lovely handmade goods, and thought, I could make that, wouldn't take me long? I was in such a shop yesterday and stopped myself from buying some gorgeous paper flowers that I thought would look lovely on my kitchen window sill.
Today, I dug out some wallpaper samples, a reel of gardening wire and some super glue, and an hour later I had a lovely vase of paper flowers...it really is as simple as that!

I-Cord technique
This technique is really quick, and you can make easy shapes by pinning it to a template as you go.....
Use any scrap yarn / wool Cast 3 stitches onto dpns Knit 3, then instead of turning around, slide the stitches to the other end of the dpn and knit again, keep knitting to desired length. This will create a thin rope, which you can then wind into any shape.
For the cloud I sketched the shape onto a piece of paper, and wound it around, starting on the outside, I pinned it, and then stitched it together on one side.
I have used 100% pure wool for the cloud so i can felt it in the wash, then Im going to sew it onto a canvas bag!
Knitted Bow headbands & Brooches
I found this pattern on this lady's blog A Common Thread
The pattern is for a knitted bow headband, but you can pretty much use them for whatever you like... I think they make nice brooches, necklaces, pins for bags etc...
Here is my first attempt...

Knitting is the best medicine
So, I've not been feeling so great the last few days and over the weekend, thanks to the hot and humid weather here. But it has allowed me to get a good start on my Riding Hood scarf, which is already looking lovely, I really like the pattern, and now I'm getting used to the stitch pattern it's just going to be a matter of perseverance and determination. It will measure almost 300cm when finished!

The smaller head of T&T Twin
I've made some good progress with Terry and Tina this weekend. Thought I would share the blurb about them from the book.... Terry and Tina Twin are good friends, but I suppose they would have to be. Terry is calm and easy going; Tina is small but feisty and usually gets her way. Terry likes reading and writing stories; Tina likes robots and dislikes bad breath.
You could come to the conclusion that Tina is the small head and Terry has the big head, but I like to think that they share heads, with all the bad thoughts in the small head and all the good ones in the larger head...but thats just me!

Wedding Album
Vanessa 'Odd Bod' Hare
This one is for my friend's new arrival Casper, who resides in Finland, so he'll need this one to keep him nice and snuggly.
Another character from the odd-bod bunch; Vanessa Hare. I decided I wanted to have a go of cable knitting. Its hard going as it's using wool cotton and 2.5mm needles (v.thin), so the first foot I did is a little messy but I'm getting the hang of it now.
That's the front completed, I've just started on one leg, the back is a little easier as it's not cable, its all in moss stitch so it shouldn't take as long.
